100 Costumed Flamingos settle in for the summer; Flamingo Fandango runs through September 6
at Botanical Gardens & Nature Center
CORPUS CHRISTI--Flamingo Fandango, a gregarious exhibit of 100 innovatively-dressed pink plastic yard flamingos designed by Coastal Bend professional and amateur artists —plus a huge flock of naked birds—continues at the South Texas Botanical Gardens & Nature Center, in Corpus Christi, through Labor Day Monday, September 6.
This is the fourth annual Flamingo Fandango in the Botanical Gardens & Nature Center’s 180-acre mix of gardens, native habitat and natural wetlands.
You’ll meet Chick-a-Chick-a-BOOM (tribute to Carmen Miranda); Lady AnteMelon; Herman F. Lamingo—Avian Engineer; Flamingo Ray Vaughn; Vino Flamingo; Full Bird Colonel and dozens ofothers in this year’s cleverly-costumed flock. And each visitor gets to cast a ballot for the VISITORS CHOICE AWARD. . .
The object of Flamingo Fandango is to make Corpus Christi’s warm, breezy slightly sultry summer a lot cooler—and put a whole new spin on NATURE TOURISM! So for some unforgettably frivolous fun this summer, visit Flamingo Fandango, July 4th through Labor Day, at the Botanical Gardens & Nature Center, 8545 South Staples. General admission only—no flamingo fee! And experience the enchanting new screened Butterfly House at the same time!
Summer hours are 7:30 am to 7:30 pm. For more Flamingo Fandango facts, fone 361-852-2100.
