American PureTex Water Corp. today announced that it has begun preliminary conversations with “Officials” in the City of Mathis and San Patricio County to locate a 440,000 sq. ft. container manufacturing and water bottle filling facility in the county.
APWC business plan calls for a “state-of-the-art” PET bottle manufacturing and filling plant for ½ liter 24 pack single service still water bottles for shipment to domestic and international markets. Once operational this facility will employ over 350 employees providing employment opportunities to San Patricio County residents. Other support business needed will generate in excess of 120 additional jobs. This food grade manufacturing facility is environmentally friendly and generates NO pollutants. Bottled water is to be loaded onto 40 foot rail road shipping containers for shipment out of the Port of Corpus Christi and other deep water west coast ports. One of the main reasons for identifying San Patricio County is because of the proximity to the Port Of Corpus Christi. Discussions have been underway with the POCC in 2006 for PureTex Water Works to become a major exporter out of the newly designed “La Quinta” deep water port scheduled to be operational in late 2009. Discussions are ongoing with the POCC and are promising.
The actual site selection will commence in the first quarter of 2007 with projected construction to take about one (1) year from date of purchase of the land. Selection is based upon several factors such as:
· Available source of clean aquifer water available at 1500 acre feet per year and sustainable.
· 200 to 300 acres of land on an active rail line.
· Available productive work force for the automated plant.
· County and City approval on Tax Abatements for this new facility.
· Texas and County Redevelopment Zone Approvals
· Community acceptance and support.
· Several alternative land sites to select from.
APWC objective is to work with the City of Mathis, San Patricio County, State of Texas and local land owners in a cooperative partnership. The city and county have shown a high level of interest in having PureTex Water Works Inc. locate this water business in their community. APWC currently has site land under contract in two additional counties in Texas also located on the Gulf Coast Aquifer in Wharton and Colorado counties. Several bottled water facilities are to be constructed over the next two to three years.
